Entities
Curves
Entity Description
Arc Defined by the Three Point Arc method, the entity has limited power within the overall structure of PolyCAD as it can only be converted to a polyline. Its main purpose is the support of drawing file translations and the generation of basic outline geometry for CFD meshing tools.
BSpline A curve defined using the standard BSpline definition based on the capabilities of the Polyline entity. The curve supports the non-uniform knot vector but not the rational capabilities of NURBS. However, curves developed interactively remain uniform. The entity can extrude a BSpline Surface though the loft command and two BSpline curves can be used to produce a Ruled surface.
Circle Defines a circle on a location plane. Its main purpose is the support of drawing file translations and the generation of basic outline geometry for CFD meshing tools. The circle and location plane can be interactively manipulated.
Cubic Spline A Cubic Spline curve which can be used to fit to point data and can be converted to a Polyline.

Polyline A Polyline is a geometric object defined by a set of points with successive pairs being connected by lines. Polylines are one of the foundation entities within PolyCAD as many of the curves representations are based on this entity.
Polyline List The Polyline List entity groups together polyline to assist the represent components such as hull or compartment sections. The entity features many tools which process all Polylines in one group, changing the number of points or polylines to suit the resolution of the intended application.
Surfaces
Entity Description
BSpline Surface A surface defined using the standard BSpline definition based on the capabilities of the Mesh entity representing the control polygon. The surface supports the non-uniform knot vector but not the rational capabilities of NURBS. However, surface developed entirely interactively remain uniform. Multiple BSpline Surfaces can be combine into groups (BSpline Surface List) to optimise screen updates when not requiring manipulation. The BSpline Surface can be converted into a Facet surface (Polygon List), used to create Calculation Sections for hydrostatics calculations or the surface converted into a Mesh instance.

Polygon Surface A primative entity that contains polygons, normally for rendering or panel calculations. All surfaces and solids can be converted to polygon surface defintions.
